Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered Physical Switch Release On The Way

I'm glad they are not scumbags like Capcom or Konami with these physical collection. With these all games are on the cartridge with some only requiring to download certain small update to patch out rough performance.

I’ll definitely wait for the physical version like I did last time. Even though these aren’t as good as the original trilogy.

I'll probably be double dipping eventually. Now we just need a Legend, Anniversary and Underworld compilation. Then the newest Trilogy.

@Truegamer79 The current pattern suggests Legend/Anniversary/Underworld would happen in February 2026 so unless Switch 2 gets delayed to 2026, I think the Survivor Trilogy (2013, Rise, Shadow) will come first.

Here's hoping this physical release shows up in stores too!
I can purchase it when I want and not with som arbitrary cut off date!
Also, cheaper and without shipping!

Don't get me wrong The Last Revelation generally has a good reputation and Chronicles is a bit underrated imo and actually good (but is actually 4 small adventures from Lara's past put together).

With Angel of Darkness it will be interesting to see if they have somehow made it better with the added content and sometimes small changes to the level layout (from an early demo, I believe).
I also hope they have tightened the controls a bit as they were quite loose imo in the PS2 version. But we'll see I guess.

Yes please! I was well chuffed with the first collection so I'd snap this one up in a heartbeat. Very keen to revisit Angel of Darkness

@Truegamer79 I don't know if it's wise to imagine all 3 games together, considering they would presumably take much more time to port, as well as the file sizes. But it would certainly be great.

I just bought the first trilogy on physical. Only played an hours, as currently focused on Vagrant Story on PS Vita, but I am impressed.

I do hope there are more lighting options though.
The remake graphics are wuite dark in places, yet I can't find a brightness option.

Remember kids: the LRG version is a Suckers Trap. Wait for the Aspyr direct version to he announced. It'll come out a year before the LRG version

It was already done once on Playstation 3 though the performance of those games were horrendous.

Yeah it's a slightly annoying paradox. It's like with comics - you should "support your artists and writers" by committing to expensive and fiddly single issues, because only then will they have enough resources to release a far more user-friendly trade volume. And the kicker is if you DON'T buy every issue, it'll get cancelled (or in the case of videogames, the physical edition will never come to be).

@Grumblevolcano Doubt the Survivor Trilogy will come first and if it does it will most likely be CD doing a straight current gen remaster. The reason the Legend Trilogy will no doubt come next is because they aren't on PS4/5 and Switch.

@DennisReynolds My guess is:

• Saber and Aspyr work on the Legend trilogy which ends up launching in February 2026 (maybe not the 14th this time considering it's a Saturday but around then)
• A different studio works on a Switch 2 port of the Survivor Trilogy which comes out around Switch 2's launch

Of course they will release it physically, why wouldn't they if they did it for I-III? I don't understand the doubt lol.

@Ninfan 😂, no. Unfortunately the physical has not been announced (yet). I'm sure there will be a physical edition announced before year's end. Hopefully during the Summer months/former E3 weeks.

@johnedwin When they get around to shipping it, it will be available at videogamesplus.ca , a Canadian site that ships everywhere. They get all LR releases..when they release. Usually just standard versions , no CEs

Limited Run? Infuriating!

@Pigeon it might come to retail, I picked up 1-3 from Amazon. IIRC that became available around the time Limited Run opened the pre-order window

I'll wait for the proper retail release here in Europe again. Hopefully it'll be out soon.

This physical release is not a limited run game numbered release, which means that it’ll be available at other retailers after the timeframe as well (and usually cheaper). I’d suggest wait a little longer before buying into this.

That has nothing to do with it. It all depends on the publisher. LRG never claims exclusivity for games of other publishers that they print.
Numbered release means that LRG will never do reprints, that is all.
Non-Numbered release means that they can do reprints, and they do for example Mutant Mudds, which I'm grateful for because the original Mutant Mudds release was done by Super Rare Games and got insanely expensive.

For example Celeste was a numbered release (#23 on Switch), but it was not only printed in Japan (regular retail release), but Fangamer just did another physical release.

So the only reason why you don't get the other Shantae games again on physical copy is that the publisher of Shantae doesn't want that to happen.
