Would it have been that much more expensive to at least load SOME assets and stuff onto the card so there doesn't have to be so much data stored on the sd? Idk how this stuff works but it just feels like there should have been SOME kind of compromise
On one hand, hoping the leaker doesn't get caught because they will absolutely receive a massive punishment way disproportionate to the harm they've caused society. Whoever it is doesn't deserve to be destitute or in jail and those are real possibilities. (EDIT i forgot the leak of employee personal info. Nvm screw this leaker, they do deserve heavy punishment.)
OTOH, leaking Nintendo secrets is one of the riskiest things you can do without the aid of a deadly weapon, so it's hard for me to be very empathetic the way it's tough for me to feel bad about illegal street racers wrecking their cars. Also, this stuff isn't just harming corporate profits--there are hundreds of real artists working on these projects, and for any of their work in progress not intended for public consumption to be leaked is a huge downer. Artists spend a lot of time on ideas that don't work to arrive at ideas that do, and if they're worried about the public finding out about the former, they may he a lot less likely to take big risks during their process. Especially interesting here as people constantly criticize Game Freak for playing it safe with their new games.
Whatever writer was responsible for that Typhlosion craziness probably had zero intention of that version of things ever seeing the light of day outside of internal meetings, or even their own computer. Perhaps they were just trying to experiment with the wildest ideas possible, just to see what they can come up with on the way to something more ready for the public.
The Switch was constantly criticized for being very underpowered, even taking into account its focus on portability. It seems Nintendo is taking those criticisms into account while beefing up the specs. The cost of the system is not really shocking with that in account.
$80 games is a bit of a bridge too far. Even if it's economically justifiable from the manufacturing end, on my end as a consumer, especially as the American economy tanks, I just won't be able to afford many games at all.
And, the game key cards are truly reprehensible and indefensible.
I understand it's fun to complain about some of the slop this service dishes out but these are major, very high quality games. A bit niche to be sure but I'm very impressed that they chose to bring these to the service.
@Vyacheslav333 idk how profitable hunters was but i feel like it's possible publishers plan on their f2p trash being disposable. Get in, get ppl to spend exorbitant amounts of cash on cosmetics that don't cost ***** to develop, then shut the servers down and get out. Idk maybe I'm wrong
You know what i just realized? Pictochat will never die as long as functional DSes exist. Because it's not an online service. We can keep the spirit alive
Notch is a trash bag. Relegating mention of that to a single note at the end of the article about "controversial comments" is kind of irresponsible reporting imo.
I loved the spider boss. The real issue with this game was the ammo system. I can't think of an actually compelling reason to incorporate it aside from adding more upgrades in the form of capacity increases. It just felt limiting.
@Gerald sadly not this one, the other yakuza games have lots of sega arcade games within. The only playable things at the arcade are the UFO catcher and photo booth.
The other minigames are great though, the bowling, billiards, and darts are all pretty deep and fun
I'm playing it for the first time and I'm getting the feeling the reviewer missed the point. It's all a very unique and bizarre package, the soap operatic crime drama stuff being told in long cut scenes and separated by completely cartoonish superhuman fight scenes and clearly intentionally aggravating fetch quests (finding the pocket tissues when you're looking for a mourning band is kind of a hilarious f* you to the player) and bizarre side quests amd minigames are all part of the deal.
It's a weird game, and the frustrating elements aren't accidental, for better or for worse.
I do like the difficulty spikes as well. Fights with random goons are not difficult at all, so the strategic depth of the combat really comes out in the more difficult sequences, especially at high difficulty.
@Serpenterror it's not put "behind" the password and it isn't on the rom, it's a custom level they're sharing with us via the custom track editor's password share system
@SoIDecidedTo and yet companies like Microsoft do it anyway, although in a manner similar to the japanese (being given no work, to languish and be discouraged from staying, rather than actively tortured, so to speak)
@Anti-Matter i hate just dance so much. It hardly qualifies as a game, one can get basically the same experience by following along videos of the gameplay because the controls are basically pretend. I miss dance central, which actually required skill. And i wish home versions of pad games would come back.
I also just hate the aesthetic, the white face style is so creepy and obnoxious.
@Anti-Matter i don't think that's the case, it's more like, the sellers have to be transparent about the fact that they can revoke the license whenever.

Re: Nintendo's On A Mission To Unmask The Pokémon 'Teraleak' Hacker
@MK73DS Might just be a matter of Nintendo having much more powerful legal resources and taking the lead on this as a result

Japan's edges out NA, i don't like that NA's circle touches the bottom of the box and the background of the Japan one works a bit better

Re: Feature: Everything You Missed In The Switch 2 Mario Kart Reveal - Characters, Features, Easter Eggs
Why would you hope it's not cross gen? The more the merrier, not everyone will be able to pick up a switch 2 at launch. It turned out fine for BOTW.
Also, i don't think the graphical style of Mario Kart is one that benefits from visual fidelity significantly greater than what we see here.

So, seven. They have seven games

@N8tiveT3ch tbf ubisoft has conditioned all of us to expect major sales within like minutes after release.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's N64 Library Next Week
@VHSGREMLIN i do, i just wasn't sure if others seeing this convo who haven't used the service were aware that the games are rendered in HD.
It's mostly nice but it does make for a bit of disjointedness when the sharp polygons are contrasted against the decidedly not-HD textures
