Re: Soapbox: TOTK's Ganondorf Is Great, But Zelda Needs To Do More With Its Villain

YoshiFR2

The memories format is atrocious … get rid of it completely and let something actually happen during the game.
Feels like you’re playing a game where nothing actually happens.

Zelda games’ story are now static, hindered by the open world format. There’s no sense of progression at all.

Go back to the Metroidvania roots and design and use the format to tell a dynamic story FFS

Re: Unity Reveals New Pricing Model For Runtime Fee Policy

YoshiFR2

Nah… it’s the Xbox One situation all over again. There’s no amount of backtracking you can do to fix reality. You wanted to F your customers initially. If people didn’t complain you would have had it your way.

Just like when people gave the finger to Don Mattrick…. unity is out

Re: Soapbox: FOMO Nearly Ruined Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom For Me

YoshiFR2

All the dungeons are some of the WORST in the series. And I know you’re talking about the Fire Temple Ollie ….

And I’m glad that they hype is dying down, the narrative is changing and most people are seeing this game for what it really is … a disappointing step in the wrong direction for the series.

The more people realize it, the sooner we can get Zelda back into form.

Re: Video: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Switch & 3DS)

YoshiFR2

@Not_Soos I honestly don't think so. Luigi's Mansion 1 is a bad way to show your new system. Not because its a bad game. But because its a really short game. It's a release to just get it out of the way. That would be like trying to port Pikmin 1 as the cavalry for a new system.
I think they must be trying to add the first one if they are taking this long to release LM2 HD.... I read summer 2024?

Re: Takaya Imamura Expresses His Love For F-Zero 99, Awaits 'Revival Of The IP'

YoshiFR2

I get all the points in this conversation. I'm one of the biggest F-Zero fans out there and I believe everyone is correct.

-Is the game amazing? YES... its pretty fun.

-Does it feel like Nintendo is holding the IP at gunpoint forcing us to play this or they will bury the corpse again? YES... it feels like it.

-Is it a monkeypaw wish? YES it is... but even monkeypaw wishes had always some sort of good & bad consequence.

-Should they gauge interest with this game? MAYBE NOT... because SNES F-Zero is a completely different experience from modern F-Zero like GX.

-Should everyone play this to revive the IP? ABSOLUTELY

-Will Nintendo take this as if we want more SNES F-Zero instead of GX? SADLY YES

Re: Video: It's Finally Time To Talk About Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Ending

YoshiFR2

A great epic 30-adrenaline-filled-minutes finale in a 200 hour slog fest.

Give me more of those final minutes in a traditional Zelda game please.
It feels like a chore when, to reach the epic good short parts of a game, you have to play hundreds of hours.

The open-world format lends to this, as there is no real story progression that affects the narrative of the world mid-game... leaving you with only the epic beginning - 190 hour filler middle - epic finale.

There's no dynamic story moments that affect the game or your journey.

Re: Working On F-Zero GX Taught Producer Toshihiro Nagoshi How To "Satisfy A Fanbase"

YoshiFR2

@Edd-O well, at least we did get Pilotwings for the 3DS, two Excitebike games on the Wii, and two Starfox games on WiiU and 3DS … But I get what you mean. Those IPs are the neglected treasures in Nintendo’s vault.

You can add to your list:
-Punch Out,
-Wario Land,
-Kid Icarus
-Rhythm Heaven (a bit)
-Earthbound
-Advance Wars (remake doesn’t count as a revival until we get a new game)

Also, F-Zero GX is one of the greatest racers of all time, period.
Nintendo, bring it back now!

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Super Mario Bros. Wonder

YoshiFR2

No bumping in co-op? That’s a major turnoff. That’s what made the other games amazingly fun as multiplayer if you learnt to embrace the chaos that ensued.

I’m all in for the game… but now I start to think I’ll play this alone. What’s the point of co-op, either online or offline, if you can’t even interact with each other?

Re: 'Thunder Ray' Looks Like The Perfect Spiritual Successor To Punch-Out

YoshiFR2

@Ogbert you can tell me where I’m being directly disrespectful to anyone here, not a single commenter. Just because my opinion doesn’t align with yours doesn’t mean I’m being disrespectful to anyone.
And no, it wasn’t to me, it was to his own team in front of every attendee.
And, again, no…. If we are talking about quality I can dish my opinion just like you. No, the art direction is crap and it affects the gameplay as it just clutters the screen with whatever flatland unstylish junk the director decided to add, as simple as that.
We are done here, won’t waste any more of my time.

Re: 'Thunder Ray' Looks Like The Perfect Spiritual Successor To Punch-Out

YoshiFR2

@Ogbert nah.. i don’t have to be respectful towards the developer for a single reason… I met part of the team at some conventions and one person in particular is a total douchebag.
And I’ve got some dirt on the higher ups via some of the workers there on the work conditions, abuse and treatment of the team, which I won’t mention now, but will when/if there’s another release.
This is unrelated to the game’s “quality” but is worth mentioning as a reason not to defend neither the studio nor the game.

Re: 'Thunder Ray' Looks Like The Perfect Spiritual Successor To Punch-Out

YoshiFR2

@Ogbert one thing is comparing it to Madworld just because it has black and white visuals, which is oversimplifying things… but the art direction is totally terrible. Everything is in the same plane where you need depth for a game like this to work.
The art direction is terrible, stuff get muddled with other stuff, things look cheaply drawn and animated. I’d argue about the “lot of effort” … or at least a game for a really amateur studio.
Maybe shovelware wasn’t the correct term… I’d rather say… a $2 garbage bin game.
I’d argue that, yes, the idea of a good game was there, but next time, fire your art director and get some designer with actual talent or studies.

Re: 'Thunder Ray' Looks Like The Perfect Spiritual Successor To Punch-Out

YoshiFR2

@MeloMan lol, you mean that game where the art director looks like he doesn’t have basic notions of design or depth? That game where everything looks in the same depth field in a b/w environment with stuff that looks drawn by a 5 year old?
Yes, anything is better than Patobox, it’s one of the worst indies I’ve ever played if not THE… it’s the very definition of shovelware.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Mega Man 7

YoshiFR2

@olliemar28 Out of topic, but have you guys already reported that Nintendo blocked international transactions in the eShop out of the country the credit card was issued in?
Nobody can buy in the Argentina shop at insane low prices anymore
