Re: Random: Rapper Soulja Boy Claims He Owns Atari, Atari Doesn't Agree

Savlep99

@Darkyoshi98 Not at all, just saying in a sarcastic manner he could technically own shares in Atari, just like we all could since it's a publicly listed entity. If he was really so angered by all this and savvy he could buy a large chunk of the outstanding shares, depending on his available cash, maybe even enough to have a significant influence on the company.

Shares for Atari are only trading at 0.42$ USD. You could even buy up as much as you can and compete for ownership stake with poor old Soulja Boy!

Re: Feature: Nintendo Labo Shouldn't Be A Big Surprise, Nintendo Is A Toymaker First And Foremost

Savlep99

And this is why I believe Metroid and/or Pokémon will release this year. This is obviously something that has been in development for quite some time. This is also the first time anyone outside of Nintendo has heard about it. Yet, the release date is only 4 months away. Nintendo has fully embraced the idea of revealing games/products that will be released in a short time frame from that announcement. This also makes me wonder what other cool new concepts are in store for us in the near future, what else do they have up their sleeves?

Re: Feature: Here's What Was Announced During The January 2018 Nintendo Direct Mini

Savlep99

@gatorboi352 Most of these games have never been available on a Nintendo platform, so this is the first opportunity to play them for a lot of people, myself included. I'm sure there are also many other people who would be buying these ports as they are common place on PS4 and Xbox, having the option to play on the go is a huge motivating factor for a lot of people debating on which of these new versions they are looking to purchase. Obviously all dependant on lifestyle and preference.

Re: Nintendo's Norwegian Site Triggers Speculation That Bayonetta 3 And Metroid Prime 4 Could Launch This Year

Savlep99

Remember when Super Mario Odyssey was announced in January 2017 for the first time. No one believed it would be released that same year, Nintendo surprised everyone by committing to its October release. Same thing with Xenoblade 2. They seem to have bought into the approach of announcing and showing titles that will be released in the near future... could this be the same for Metroid 4 which was announced way back at E3 of last year??? Perhaps

Re: Nintendo President Aims for 20 Million Switch Units To Be Shipped Next Year

Savlep99

@MartyFlanMJFan Yes I know, I just think that having adequate supply all they need to do is continue to market the system and 20 million should be a no brainer. With a special game being released, like pokémon, I would expect closer to 25 to 30 million sold in next fiscal year. People want the Switch as its unique selling proposition is so intriguing for today's lifestyle, that is an easy sell and should in and of itself guarantee to continue selling the system at the same pace as this first year.

Re: Nintendo Switch Picks Up Incredible Sales in Japan to Continue Its Strong Run

Savlep99

Well I thought it would be a stretch to reach 200k sales in one week but there they go beating that figure by 10%! Hopefully this week is just as strong. I'm not sure if Japan is as crazy with deals and sales the week after the holidays but here in Canada that week is our version of the U.S.'s Black Friday.

The Switch looks poised to sell over 750k in Japan alone for the month of December. Do these weekly figures start on the previous Monday and end on the Sunday?

Re: Nintendo Switch is Still Number One in the Japanese Charts

Savlep99

@maceng I'm also one to make educated guesses and am not necessarily buying into wild expectations. Since we are naming professions, I am an chartered accountant and work very closely with projections, forecasts and financials. I also must admit I have a vested interest in the Switch doing well as I am also an investor in Nintendo stock. Do I think it's a stretch? Yes. Do I believe Nintendo can surprise us once again this year? Yes. They seem to have a better handle on their supply issues, as seen in the weekly sales increases in Japan. Nintendo has stated they are ramping up supply even more for the month of December? Could those weekly sales in Japan reach 200k? I don't know, but if we are to believe that there is still clearly stock shortages in the market and Nintendo will again increase output, why can't we see another 40k jump like we saw this week. We already know that South Korea and Japan amounted to over 200k in sales this past week, I think it might be possible, but we will wait and see. If I were to bet on it happening I certainly wouldn't, then again with the odds stackes so high against it, we could be looking at 100-1 odds, in which case I might wager 10 dollars It might just be more realistic to see the Switch outpace that 13.5 million in 10 and a half months by a week or a few days. It's just a fun ride to follow at the moment!

Re: Nintendo Switch is Still Number One in the Japanese Charts

Savlep99

@maceng December 10th was the post, I believe it is based on data up until November, which excludes that first week of December sales. I think it might be a stretch but certainly doable. Can they sell an average of 875k a week worldwide, stretch yes, possible definitely especially with the South Korean market, we will have to see. I'm looking forward to seeing the results.

Re: Nintendo Switch is Still Number One in the Japanese Charts

Savlep99

Very impressive, the switch will likely end 2017 close to or above the 13.5 million mark which would have it outpace the PS4 in a little less than 10 months. The PS4 in turn took 10.5 months to reach that figure. I'm not aiming to pit one console against another, simply to be happy that the Switch is on pace to be a better selling console long-term if momentum can be maintained. This is good news for Nintendo fans and fans of video games in general!

Re: Nintendo Switch Reaches 10 Million Global Sales In Its First Nine Months

Savlep99

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Enjoy those games! They will certainly eat up a good chunk of your free time over the next few months! I have over 130 hours split between Mario + Rabbids and Mario Odyssey... haven't yet started Xenoblade 2.. will get to that after I get through my backlog which includes Doom, Skyrim, L.A. Noire, Nights of Azure 2...

Re: Nintendo Switch Reaches 10 Million Global Sales In Its First Nine Months

Savlep99

@superguy123 Actually outpacing PS4 first nine months when you consider the fact that the Switch's first nine months does not include a holiday season. If you compared the same calendar months during the first year of launch the Switch is quite a ways ahead of the PS4. This will become much more clear after the holiday numbers are accounted for.

Re: Bayonetta 3 is In Development and is a Switch Exclusive

Savlep99

Great news to wake up to! The Switch currently is the system where I've already more than doubled my initial first year game purchases for any other video game console... and the year isn't even done yet. 2018 will likely make it so that I have more Switch games than NES, SNES and Game Boy combined, I was a kid at that time and games were limited to what my parents would get me. I have many more games for the N64, Gamecube, Wii and Wii U, but still the switch may very well have me buy more games lifetime than a few of those other consoles combined too!

Re: Review: L.A. Noire (Switch)

Savlep99

I really don't think Rockstar has produced many copies of this game for the Switch and might be happy with the current sales figures even though to the rest of us they appear to be underwhelming. Not one copy was in stock at my local Walmart, which I believe to be a result of low stock levels.

I've also noticed that retailers are not displaying third party games such as Doom, Skyrim, Sonic Forces, Dragonball Xenoverse 2 etc. face forward in some cases. Again I've noticed this past weekend at three different Walmarts that all these titles were on the same shelf turned on their side while Mario Odyssey, Just Dance, Zelda, Rabbids, Arms, Splatoon 2, Fifa 18, etc. were all facing forward easily catching the eye of any potential buyer whereas you had to really look hard and know what you wanted for the others. I hope this isn't the case everywhere as it will be difficult for those looking to purchase the Switch and a few games as a gift during the holidays to potentially pick up these quality third party titles.

When I picked up Doom I told the cashier that I wanted Doom for the Switch and his response was "That game is only on PS4 and Xbox One...". I had to take him to the Switch section and point it out (1 of three copies), squeezed between all those others games where he then said "Oh that seems odd".

Sorry end of rant! I have L.A. Noire on order and am looking forward to playing it.
