Re: Feature: Video Game Ghosts Of Christmas Past

DiggerandIndy

I have three memories:
1. When I got my Sega Genesis (that's the Mega Drive in case you don't know) that came with Sonic 2. I can remember trying to play 2-Player with my sister, but it only came with one controller.

2. When my grandmother gave me Super Mario 64, then I got my N64 that Christmas. Yes, my family had a sense of humor. The best part was renting Mario Kart 64 after that.

3. Getting Super Mario Land 1&2 for my Game Boy along with two large plush Mario and Yoshi toys (the ones from BD&A during the N64 days) that would talk when you pressed their hand. That was my favorite because there was a sense of magic: My grandparents came to visit us when my family and I were trying to work in a boy's ranch in Missouri, and that Christmas made up for a crappy life there. Not long after that we hated it so much we packed our bags and left!

Re: Soapbox: A Super Mario Odyssey Sequel or DLC is All But Guaranteed

For DLC I'd like to see Mario dressed up as Indiana Jones or like he did in the Super Mario live action movie, mostly as a nod. I know it's a copyright headache, but I can dream, right?

For sequels, I don't mind one but I'd like to see a remake from Luigi's point of view, with Daisy and Tatanga from Super Mario Land (in his old comic book adaptation) to replace Peach and Bowser respectively.

Re: Review: L.A. Noire (Switch)

@ricklongo I'd like to see an L.A. Noire 2 (maybe seeing one of Phelps' kids get into the police force in the 60's ultimately getting justice against those who screwed Phelps over. Considering the crap that went on from segregation to the hippies to Korea and Vietnam this should be very interesting) or a N.Y. Noire set in the same time period or Chicago Noire. Also a nitpick: the review said that Phelps is ex-army. He's actually ex-marine.

Re: Nintendo is Close to a Major Deal for a New Mario Bros. Movie

DiggerandIndy

I always thought Illumination would be a good choice for an animated Mario movie. Granted, I think Pixar is a better choice since they're better at storywriting. The only thing I'm worried about is Nintendo meddling where they don't belong; Anytime there's meddling from the higher-ups - in war, video games (Sonic 2006, Superman 64, and Resident Evil 6) or movies - it's almost guaranteed to flop, especially since Nintendo doesn't exactly have experience in movies.

I always thought of a Mario movie as a buddy comedy, where Mario is the risk-taking optimist who comes up with hare-brained ideas while Luigi is smarter, maybe more cynical, and has more common sense, living in Brooklyn, New York (and all the quirks that come with it).

Re: 'Next Gen Nintendo 64 Controller' from Retro Fighters Smashes Kickstarter Target

DiggerandIndy

This looks really cool, maybe I'll buy it as an early Christmas present. I've been mostly using raphnet tech's Gamecube to N64 controller converter; I think it needed a Controller Pak setup (for Rayman 2, Castlevania 64, Toy Story 2, or any other game that requires it) and needs some button layout adjustments on the factory default, otherwise it's a perfect converter! Maybe this new controller will be my answer.

Re: Feature: Our Nintendo Hopes and Dreams for E3 2017

DiggerandIndy

Personally I'd like to see an EarthBound/Mother collection for starters; Mother 3 is way overdue for an official international release. Also I'd like to see Smash released for the Switch, maybe with a few new fighters and new courses. Mostly I'd like to see an SNES Classic Edition (and see Nintendo shoot itself in the foot again just like the NES Classic. ;-P)
