Front Mission 1 & 2 Remakes Announced For Nintendo Switch

FINNALLY FM1 I’m buying idc how much it costs. I played some rough eng translations of the originals on emulators back in the day. so glad to be able to re play with some good official ones

Edit: Ughhh actually it’s a remake. I hate that word. Not holding my breath. Would have loved a remaster….

I might check it out. 2022, the year of the Tactical rpg genre.

Square Enix have been great for the Switch.

But other than that and their stance on NFTs, and the Guardians cloud port, yeah Square has been fine for Switch.

But, but, I thought Square Enix were absolute evil because they release cloud games and eat babies and stuff.

I may give it a go; always heard good things about the games on PSX, but never really gave them an honest look.

Square delivered a lot this Direct. I can only hope they'll continue to look at their back catalog and rerelease items from Enix. Soul Blazer Trilogy maybe?

still pissed that square put kingdom heart games in cloud form.

I thought Left Alive (a try hard metal gear styled reboot) killed this series.

I remember playing the first one, translated, on an emulator in the late 90s. Can't wait. This or advance wars reboot camp?

Tactical RPG may not be my forte (though I loved SD Gundam Generations and the Disgaea series) but I'm happy that this genre is getting more attention lately and I'm happy for the fans of the games. I might even pickup Triangle Strategy and Advance Wars 1 + 2.

TWO NEW FRONT MISSION GAMES!

The first two games were always a little rudimentary compared to 3 and 4. Hopefully these remakes fix that.

Switch is now the home for sweet tactic games, musou hack and slash games, epic platformers, Metroidvania titles, Zelda-like games, 2D HD remakes, epic shoot em ups, classic arcade titles, classic remastered, good graphic novel, JRPGs, and family games. Though I already got Front Mission 1 for Nintendo DS, I'm definitely getting these remakes so that we also see FM3 & 4 in the future as well.

Sold. I bought the DS version and I will happily buy this.

This game is TOO EASY. I don´t like strategy RPGs so easy like that. You become overpower too soon.

I had front mission 4 on PS2. I absolutely adored the game, despite it having the most mixed reception with the series fan base.

That’s the only one I’ve ever played. So I’m down to pick up the remake of the Super Famicom original.

Man Forever Entertainment are really going from strength to strength.

Calling them 1st and then simply 2 is going to irritate me endlessly though, hahaha.

I'm hype for this one, but to be honest I'm even more hype for Front Mission 2 since it never left Japan and translations are kind of jacked. FM1 on DS was great though, and hopefully one day we can also get an english version of 5.

Definitely a cool announcement. But I find the timing a bit weird with Triangle Strategy just around the corner.
We'll see how well those two remake sell... I feel like they "simply" target the old fans with thie effort.

This was my favorite surprise of the show for sure. I never got to play Front Mission but the way people describe it sounds like I'd be into it. Looking forward to playing it.

Forever entertainment doesn't instill me with confidence. Hopefully this will be alright though. I would actually prefer a sequel to the failed Front Mission Evolved, as apart from some typical poor design choices, it was a competent modern take.

I am keeping my expectations low and will wait to read the reviews. The first part is due out this summer, yet they didn't show any gameplay. That's NOT a good sign.
