No need to worry about a mewtiny here — the next entry in the Cat Quest series has undergone a bit of a name change, but that swashbuckling spurr-irit is still there. Cat Quest: Pirates of the Purribean — now known as Cat Quest III — has received its debut gameplay trailer today.
Taking the cute and accessible action RPG to the high seas, you'll be the fluffiest sailor in the land as you pull into pawt and explore the Purribean. The Gentlebros is keeping the traditional hack-and-slash combat we've come to know and love, but now you'll be able to ride ships and tackle other scallywags by firing cannonballs at them.

And even though you're on the search for the North Star, there are plenty of pi-rats out there for you to take down. Just make sure your fluffy little pirate doesn't get their hands on a parrot now...
Bring your best matey along for the ride when Cat Quest III sails onto Switch in 2024. Will you be weighing anchor with your furry friend next year? Yowl at us in the comments.

Cat Quest 2 is low-key one of the best co-op games on the system. I'm more hyped for this than I have any right being.
Oh, the title back to Cat Quest 3.
I will get both Switch and PS5 version for Cat Quest 3.
I'm actually super excited for this one, and it's a shame Cat Quest doesn't have a bigger audience. The games have this addictive gameplay loop that's chill, while engaging at the same time. I would recommend to anyone to pick up a Cat Quest game while it's on one of their super cheap sales before writing off this franchise. I'll purrsonally be looking forward to picking Cat Quest 3 up when it launches.
Was getting concerned by the absence of co-op in the trailer, but thankfully the very end put that to rest. I’m currently playing through CQ2 now, and I’m looking forward to this one! I consider these games to be nice-easily-accessible-pick up and play games.
Looking forward to this. Loved the first two games.
MY BOI HAS RETURNED TO MAKE THE SERIES A TRILOGY, LES GOOOOO
Another lovable indie series that is very welcome to see grow, even though I have yet to make substantial progress in it myself. And there are never enough seafaring RPGs out there.
@Balladeer Agreed, my daughter and I just loved it!
Never knew how popular this series had become as of late. At first I thought it was just another one time mobile looking simple RPG but it had really took itself seriously now.
I do like the Cat Quest games. I’ll be getting this one for sure!
I played through the first cat quest game and really liked it so hopefully I’ll be able to play both cat quest 2&3
wow that looks good, quick close and ranged combat and switching from the boat to fighting on the over world.
@Balladeer You have all the right and justification for being highly hyped for this release. And if anyone challenges that, send them my way.
I thought they were making a spin-off before the third game. What happened to that idea?
Loved it, I think I got to the end in the first.. didnt even know there was a second.
My cat just completed the side quest "steal cheese off the pizza"
