Alongside today's news of a brand new update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Nintendo has revealed that it will be re-releasing the highly sought after Sanrio Collaboration cards.
Starting on 26th March, the Animal Crossing Sanrio Collaboration Pack will be available to buy exclusively at Target in the US; packs will cost $5.99 and contain all six cards from the unique Sanrio collection. The cards will also be launching across Europe, but further details on their price and availability are yet to be shared.
The collection includes cards for Rilla, Marty, Étoile, Chai, Chelsea, and Toby, as seen below. The set hasn't been the easiest to track down since its initial launch, so it's great to see them making a comeback.

Will you be stocking up on these cards while you have the chance? Let us know in the usual place.

Wait, is that compatible with ACNH after new update ?
What about new amiibo cards? Something that represents the new characters introduced in New Horizons, the Welcome amiibo update of New Leaf, and Pocket Camp.
The Sanrio collection of cards lack functionality in New Horizons anyway. You can't invite these characters, but you can get a Hello Kitty poster at least.
It must be, otherwise I feel that they wouldn't rerelease.
I bloody hope those cards finally get released in the STATES!
We didn't get them at all last time, and if any of us in the states wanted to get Sanrio stuff in NL we had to IMPORT the cards from either Japan or the UK >.<
I feel like these are closely connected with happy home designer obviously, imagine a number two of that game...
That's cool. I didn't expect these to come back, but it makes sense, given the pandemonium about suddenly obtaining these cards.
I was today years old when I learned about these.
What do these do? Unlock the furniture in the image?
please tell me these are compatible with new horizon T_T i want new leaf things to come back onto new horizon please.
@sabaki08
New Leaf received an update that added a camp grounds area.
You could invite villagers and special characters to come stay at the camp ground, and they'd set up a camper van with an interior design.
You could then interact with the characters, catalogue purchase displayed interior items, and also invite villagers to move in.
These six special cards allowed you to invite villagers based on famous Sanrio characters.
Why they chose a Gorilla to represent Hello Kitty though I have no idea.
Nintendo UK has just confirmed we are getting these in Europe too. Great news as a pack of these sell for well over a 100GBP.
I hope they actually make a lot of these, I can easily see these releasing with barely any in stores, thus making them cost up to the hundreds on Ebay
@RupeeClock I get it now. Thanks. LMAO for the gorilla bit, what the hell? 😂
@IronMan30 Same here and I played a ton of New Leaf and other AC related games in the last decade. So I guess I wasn't paying too much attention outside of the games.
As for the questions about New Horizons compatibility, the packaging that's pictured in the official twitter account tweet says it's compatible. Though others seem to have more knowledge of what these cards actually do than I do
I REALLY hope this means the Amiibo villagers are finally being added into NH...
@UmbreonsPapa @EmmatheBest @Anti-Matter
Yes, Nintendo UK has confirmed they're compatible with ACNH... Might just be for the posters though?

The posters in the game are cute...but that's some expensive DLC
I really hope I can get them this time before they get sold out..
Also the only villager I want back is Megumi
In case people from Canada are curious, we'll be getting these cards too, but it hasn't been announced yet where they'll be available.
Here is Nintendo of Canada's tweet:

I bought these in the UK when I had a bit of a phase collecting them until I realised how much it would cost to get all the cards. God damn blind packs. I still have these ones sealed ready for sale as part of my retirement fund. Not looking so valuable now. The regular cards are all open and running free though!
@Clyde_Radcliffe The cards are conspicuously releasing around the time of the March update, which is also the 1 year anniversary of the game so I assume it'll be a bigger update. I have a feeling the Sanrio villagers will be a part of that update, but I could be wrong.
yes target the place l like!
@Cynas I was curious if Canada was going to be included.
The first scalper to get to my local target will be thrilled -_-
Thank GOD. I missed out on these the first time, and scalpers have been demanding outrageously high prices on eBay.
I am so glad I waited.
Already have these but still looking to complete the amiibo card collection as a whole. Already have all the Mario sports superstars cards and over half of the regular animal crossing cards, and maybe a third of the New Leaf specific cards.
@RupeeClock no, but you can get their posters from scanning them @Harv’s then ordering them through Nook Shopping.
@sabaki08 For ACNH they only unlock the characters and not the furniture unfortunately.
@FroZtedFlakerZz it was for the nl welcome amiibo update as a crossover I dont think it was in hhd. idk if I can imagine a second hhd, but I can imagine some of the features in that game coming to nh and interactions with some items ect
I like Étoile a lot in pocket camp, and I honestly want her in new horizons. sadly my island is not far enough to be able to do that.
{o} - {o}
@Cynas at the end of the trailer for the newest update I saw a super mushroom and a super star from the super mario series so mario crossover maybe? also I believe you that the sanrio characters may be in the update 💙
@SplatoonPlayer763 invite amiibo villagers
