Are we definitely getting the e-reader levels? My purchase depends solely on this.

I'm currently playing Star Ghost. I'm so terrible at shooters.

Finally!! It goes on sale at last. Still a shame we can't get it physical, but £17.50 seems a bit more reasonable.

LTTP MY CHILDHOOD LOVE! I've been too cheap trying to find it online for my SNES (And I do not want NTSC or German version) so this will do it... I love, love, love, love, love the game. Despite of Moldrom.

WiiU is getting GBA games, and 3DS is getting SNES games. Somebody at Nintendo likes to watch the world burn, haha Nothing to complain really, but I whish some of the VC stuff was a cross-buy. I already have Super Metroid and Super Mario World on WiiU, but would love to get them on the go.

I'm gutted, because I'm upgrading to a New 3ds XL at the end of the month (the new Zelda model) and I'm missing out on all these timed SNES VC discounts. This is why we need an account system similar to Sony, so I can make digital purchases prior to owning the hardware

I would like the SNES VC games I purchased on my Wii U to be transferred (not copied, just transferred) to my N3DS.

@AhabSpampurse Well if it was a Sony style account system you'd also be getting those games for free if you owned them on Wii U.

@AhabSpampurse you can i imagine still buy the games on your old model. It will download the rom to the sd card. It just wont load. Then you just system transfer the games over and play them later this month. I may be wrong but the file itself can exist on the sd card so guessing it will be fine. U'd have to check though. Nintendo might have some lock on it to stop people downloading

But this is Nintendo we´re talking about. They make great games and stuff but are behind the competetion in some other things.

Also not sure why they need to be free. Nintendo has to create a new VC for the 3ds to run them. It costs them money. A discount i can understand. But there is no business sense in them giving you free games. Wii u and 3ds are very different internally.

Am I right in saying this will be the first time Super Metroid has been available to play on handheld?

The torrent of Mario Advance games is most certainly on my list and so are the two N3DS SNES games.

I do not have a 'new' 3DS console as I am perfectly happy with my Fire Emblem special edition 3DS XL.

I am getting a bit cheesed off to say the least how Nintendo are treating eShop games by making some old games only available on 'new' 3DS.

Surely, there is no reason that Super Metroid will not run on my 3DS.

I feel like I am being rail roaded into buying a new console.

@JohnG Words of wisdom. I have also complained about the prices so many times and will continue to do so until the prices are reasonable. I would like to have a collection of retro games on my Wii U but 10 SNES games 80 euros? No thanks. 10 NES games 50 euros? No thanks. I can get physical copies of contemporary games for a cheaper price.

I had a long hard think about the SNES VC announcement last week and decided that I'm not going to pay again (outside of maybe a nominal fee akin to the Wii > WiiU upgrade) for any titles on my New 3ds that I already own (and paid for!) on either Wii or WiiU. As much as I'd love to play Earthbound portably, I'm not gonna pay £8.99 again to do so. And the fact that other SNES titles are £7.19 on 3ds when they cost less on WiiU makes double-dipping even less appealing. Was considering A Link To The Past this week as I don't already own that on VC...

@Antray1984 thanks for the suggestion but you can't, I tried with last week's releases. The purchase button that's normally at the bottom of the screen is greyed out and says "For New 3DS systems only."

I'm sure someone will explain to me why we don't have the DS games that you can buy on the Wii U - why aren't they being sold on the 3DS eShop??

I've had the harvest moon games (from both publishers) on my watch list, but Rune Factory 4 looks interesting and possibly has a bit more to do.

@JohnG sure it can be made to run, either with various graphic glitches or running at 5fps.
the (n)3DS lacks the hardware to process complex 2D environments through the GPU, and has to use the CPU to compensate.
for snes emulation this means a lot more power is needed to get graphics to work properly.
power the n3ds barely has, and the old 3ds doesn't come close to.

@vitalemrecords the 3DS isn't powerful enough to emulate DS, and has to resort to "ds mode" which switches the 3DS to use only DS components and firmware with the exact same limitations as the original DS.
since the DS didn't have a memory card, this DS mode also cannot work with a memory card.
without access to the memory card, where are you going to load the games from?

Download "Never alone" guys! A awesome puzzle/platformer game. Very charming, and also good looking. The controls get a bit annoying near the end though. I think I paid a bit more then it costs now.

As well as other people I wish Nintendo were offering some kind of cross buy discount. I've bought these games already - I'm not buying them again. I understand there is cost involved but charge us £1 like you do with the Wii U.

I'd also like to see different games. Not just the same ones again and again that I've bought on Wii and then Wii U, give us some variety!

I had these SNES games when they originally came out - I bought them on Wii. I bought them again on Wii U. I'm not buying them again on New 3DS, Nintendo. If you can work it out so Wii U owners can "upgrade" from Wii to Wii U for a minimal fee, you can do it again for Wii U to N3DS owners. But you haven't. I'm beyond annoyed.

Not alot for me this week maybe Super Mario Advance games and SNES games on New 3DS is awesome but I'm not buying again.

I kind of see a pattern here - after the cross-discount with SNES titles on New 3DS, they did a similar promotion with GBA games on Wii U eShop. I'll be glad to snatch A Link To The Past AND Super Metroid, but I still refuse to support the GBA VC until it becomes available on both consoles (which might well be never).
Especially since the GBA remaster of Super Mario World is coming out exactly one week after its SNES counterpart became available on 3DS, which seems to be done out of pure spite if you ask me.

Nothing for me, though I may eventually buy the New 3DS SNES VC games at some point.

I only have money to buy one game this month, and that will be Samurai Warriors 4 Empires... so nothing on this list. I'll get Stella Glow eventually once my finances start to balance out and I have nothing with a higher priority to buy.

I too cannot support GBA games only for Wii U.

It just makes no sense to tie 'portable' gaming to a home console.

There are plenty of GBA Virtual Console games I would love to buy if they were avaialble on 3DS but it appears that Nintendo do not want my money. Maybe they have enough already.

High five, another naysayer against GBA on Wii U!
Sure, it's awesome to have Super Metroid as an officially handheld title outside of smartphone emulators. But, on the other hand, the Wii U has - lemme count - Metroid, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid: Other M via backwards compatibility and Metroid Prime Trilogy on the eShop. All that's missing is Metroid Prime Hunters (assuming said title - for yet another handheld, mind you - didn't get on the eShop already), Metroid Prime Pinball and Metroid II, and you can have all Metroid games on the same console. Which is cool and all, but it wouldn't hurt to have the handheld Metroid games (Zero Mission and Fusion) on the 3DS eShop as well, but no, the WiiU is hogging them all.
It would be great if the GBA joined the 3DS eShop, it's a perfect fit and it would be a better system seller on a portable console than it is (not) on a home console.
Remember, technology going portable is a step forward, not the other way around.

If the e-Reader levels are in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, then I will download.

@Shinnos I'm with you on this one. Have already purchased the games on Wii virtual console and the upgrade on Wii U virtual console. Don't feel I should have to pay again, especially since I've paid to upgrade to a New 3DS.
Nintendo seem to like ripping us off.

Super Mario Advance 4 is a day one purchase because of the extra levels, looking forward to it.

I wish NA got Super Metroid on 3DS this week. But of course, NoA opts for some bizarre, weirdly spaced release schedule instead of what NoE is doing. Seems like if doing something makes sense, NoA just loves doing the opposite.

Super Metroid on 3DS for me. Truly one of the greatest games ever made.

So in 2 straight weeks, Nintendo has rereleased Super Mario World, 3DS VC last week and GBA port on Wii U this week.

And STILL no discount for having the Wii U SNES version unless you take advantage of the 3 for 2 promotion and pretend you got Advance 2 for free.

They REALLY wanna ensure the NX has that unique selling point of "crossbuy purchases" huh.

@Finntendo Make sure to download Super Metroid with it as well. Easily one of the best games on the system.

I'm OK with the GBA games on Wii U instead of 3DS as I can't play any of the 3DS's for long due to pain at the base of my thumbs which is really annoying as I want to play a fair few games on them. It would make more sense to release them on both though, no idea why they don't do that.

I wonder if Metroid and Zelda for 3DS are the NTSC or Pal versions of the game.

LttP and Super Metroid for me. Hope I will beat EarthBound as quick as possible to dig into LttP. Yet another Zelda on my N3Ds

I'm looking forward to Stella Glow, but i'm currently in the middle of playing Bravely Second. Then we have Yokai Watch coming out the end of April, then Fire Emblem Fates the 20th of May.

I wish i had the time to play them all, but i find myself with a backlog of games from over 5 years ago.

First World problems.

Physical copy of Stella Glow for me this week, been looking forward to it for ages! Tempted to get the Launch Edition from Nintendo Store but wasn't completely sold on the goodies included for the price tag so went with Zavvi instead, save a bit of money.

Rune Factory 4 is mighty tempting too - thinking about importing a physical copy next few weeks or next month but £40 to do so vs £17.50 digital (which I'm not massively keen on anyway)...decisions decisions.

That Mario promotion is actually pretty good. Nintendo doing something right for a change.

Meh would buy rune factory if it was 15. I really dont want to buy 2 €15,- eshop cards :/

I'm getting those Super Nintendo games. I've never played Super Metroid, but I've heard many great things. I've got Link to the Past on Wii U, but I'd find it much easier to play on my 3DS.

Hold up... I'm not actually sure if it does come with the e-Reader levels? I won't buy if it doesn't, but there's no mention of it on Nintendo's UK site. I'll pass if they're not there.

I live in North America, I was directing my frustration at NOA for not giving us any promotions for the VC that Europe and Japan got.

@NekoLarissa I'm not sure if 3DS is the same but on Wii U you can pay the remainder with debit/credit card.

I guess I will get Rune Factory. Talking about GBA on 3DS, it's 3DS should have it. PSP can emulate it perfectly, and even regular 3DS is about as powerful as PSP.
