There was a time, in early 2013, when team NL had a conversation that went like this...

"Right, time for another Mario Kart 7 community night, right?"

"Maybe we should see if any Wii U games have online community features."

"Erm, Call of Duty?"

"Nah, let's look into it."

Well, we've been 'looking into it' — which means forgetting to do just that — for a long time, but with Mario Kart 8 still being a thing we can only dream about until later in the Spring (presumably), we've decided that the old-faithful Mario Kart 7 will still do a job quite nicely. As such we're inviting you all to a thoroughly informal and fun mess-about in the awesome kart-racer, this Friday (24th January) at 9pm UK time, 10pm Central European, 4pm Eastern US, 3pm Central US and 1pm Pacific US. You'll hopefully be there, and a selection of NL staffers (including the bearded, happy Mii of this writer) will be around to be crushed by some awesome skillz; it could go on for a few hours, so bring some snacks.
